Make simple swaps throughout your day to kickstart your healthy-eating resolutions! Over time you can become stricter if you want… but these are some pretty good “rules of thumb” to begin with! Keep in mind however, that just because something is labeled “low-fat” or “whole-wheat” or a “light vinaigrette” does not necessarily make it healthy! In some cases, preservatives and other additives like sugar and sodium may be hidden in them! It is very important to LEARN HOW TO READ LABELS.
Choose wheat over white.
Choose veggies over chips or fries.
Choose vinaigrettes over Ranch or other creamy dressings.
Choose yams or sweet potatoes over regular white potatoes.
Choose grilled over fried.
Choose fruit over candy.
Choose water over soda.
Choose unsweetened green tea over fruit juice.
It’s my birthday.
I honestly thought that today I would just lose all self control and eat heaps and heaps of junk like cake and chips etc. But, I surprised myself and really kept to my healthy eating except for a tiny piece of cake after I blew out 17 candles. I am so proud of myself!
